Focus Group Institute is an organization whose mission is to connect community decision-makers (YOU) with attorneys who represent clients in cases in which the community has an interest. For example, if the attorney's case involves issues of community safety, that would be a case in which the members of the community would naturally be concerned.
At Focus Group Institute we have two primary goals. Our first goal is to engage members of the community in genuine discussion about real cases involving real people and organizations and involve them in the dispute resolution process in a non-judicial setting. Our second goal is to help attorneys use what they learn from the community members to hopefully find a resolution to disputes without resorting to the uncertainty and unpleasantness of judicial intervention. Often attorneys will go into Court without having ever considered what the actual members of the community may think about their clients' position in the dispute and how it might be perceived. An attorney who is better informed about how REAL people see the dispute, is undoubtedly going to be a better advocate for his or her client, and will be better equipped to help his or her client find a positive resolution.
